Community Supported Agriculture
Our vegetable CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) spans our main growing season, which is 22 weeks long from June 7th – November 4th, 2023. Early on, the farm provides mostly greens and roots, with fruiting veggies making an appearance by July. In August through October, the share gets bulkier as a wider variety of crops are ready. We steadily offer staples like potatoes, tomatoes, greens, garlic, and herbs.
How 2023 shares look:
$500, one share size, +$20 for market pickup
This year, we’re offering one share size with the option to double it for a $100 discount. It will be similar to last year’s “full share”, with improvements and tweaks that this simplification allows.
What about the half-share?
Half, basic, simple… we’ve gone through many versions of the half-share, always attempting to offer more flexibility to people who find the CSA to be too much produce. We’re hoping we can channel that need for flexibility into a concept that’s new to us: the Market Card. While you still pay up-front like the CSA, the market card is different in that you aren’t confined to the weekly pickup schedule and have the freedom to choose your produce at the farmers market …read more here.
Alternatively, it has worked out in the past that multiple households purchased a share together and split the bounty each week. If you really love having your seasonal vegetables selected for you but the full share is too much, we suggest buddying up with a neighbor/family/friend.
Why more for the market pickup?
Distributing our produce at a location other than where it’s grown is somewhat of a logistical burden on the farm. Especially when bulky crops like melons, squash, cabbages are available and we’re shipping ~1000 lbs of produce across town weekly. For that reason, $20 ($1 per pickup) has been added to the market distribution this year.
Additionally, picking up your produce at the farm offers a chance to build a closer relationship with your food and your farmer by seeing the farm through its seasonal transformations. We want to encourage people to have that experience.

If you’ve never been in a CSA before…
We plan and work hard to ensure you walk away from each pickup with a bounty of produce, but things don’t always go our way. Joining a CSA means you enter a relationship with your farmer in which you share the risks and rewards of the season. It usually ends up well and you receive much more than what you pay.
